Phrase Searching
Databases and search engines will insert the operator AND between search terms. For example:
Information Technology = Information AND Technology
Use quotation marks to keep the phrase together like this:
"Information Technology"
Truncation
Most databases allow you to use an asterisk * to truncate a word. For example:
program* = program + programs + programmer + programming + programmable
Google automatically looks for the single and plural form of a word.
Putting these search tips together
(OOP OR "object-oriented programming") AND (Java OR Python) and "open-source"
